This drone can be controlled using a hacked fitness tracker and hand motions
As part of the NASA Space Apps Challenge, a group of hackers from Macedonia have taken inspiration from The Force and Star Wars to create a new type of drone control.
The Avis wristband is essentially a Bluetooth-connected fitness tracker that is connected to a smartphone and in turn to the drone. Using the accelerometer in the wristband the movement of the drone can then be controlled by the movement of your wrist and hand.
Essentially creating a flying robot controlled by your gestures. Which looks as cool as it sounds.
The wristband even comes with weather notifications and vibrates if you enter a known no-fly zone, using data gathered from the GPS on your smartphone and a database of such locations.
